The Southwest of Tenerife is one of the areas with the greatest biodiversity in Europe, being such an important ecosystem that it is almost entirely protected by the Natura 2000 network. But even with all this explosion of life, there was a proposal to build a large port that would affect the stability and continuity of this ecosystem, causing the disappearance of many species. IInnoceana and other entities formed the Save Fonsalía platform with the aim of stopping this project through the collection of signatures. In order to achieve the objective and to reach a greater number of people, different campaigns were carried out on social media. As well, a video was made on Youtube, and different interviews were given in which the position was defended on why this major port would lead to the ruin of the Southwest of Tenerife.
